This morning, I woke up late.
My oldest daughter had swimming on early this morning and Jamie got up at his usual 5:30am time to go to the gym and when he got back, he got the girls up, fetched them some brekkie and took them off to the pool.
I think I rolled out of bed at around 10am, which for parents of small children, you’ll know what a luxury that is.
And I say, “rolled” because I didn’t hop out of bed. I pretty much turned myself over, feel out of bed onto the floor, but landed on my feet. Standing upright made me feel like a 60-year-old former footballer. I have pains in muscles and joints all over my entire body.
I slowly made my way into the shower and just stood under the hot water to let it cascade over my body for a while to loosen things up, but while it felt good, I was still really sore. My stomach and kegel muscles ached while I had a pee in the shower.
Yesterday at lunch, I spent an hour and a half with a guy that I see every few weeks named Paul, and as the kids say, he completely destroyed me. Sex with Paul is vigorous naturally, but yesterday was a whole other level. We were just in some kind of groove and it was fierce.
My abdomen is sore from orgasms a day later, that’s not something that happens very often from my experience.
You can read about my Valentine’s Day here - it was pretty intense actually.
Today, I’m suffering for it. I did something after lunch that I almost NEVER do. Jamie brought the girls home and he went out with some mates. I called my mum and asked for her to lend me two hours of her time to watch the girls, which she laughed at and was at my place inside of 20 minutes with my dad in tow. It’s almost impossible to keep her away from them, but I still feel guilty asking.
I then made my way over to a local Yoga studio and spent an hour trying to stretch out my body. I felt a bit better afterward, but I then decided to get a massage (no happy ending in case you’re curious, too sore), so I went to this woman at Macquarie Centre shopping mall and let her hurt me for an hour.
When I got home, my mom and dad took my oldest out to buy some new school shoes for her, and I convinced my younger daughter to have a bath with me. I really needed to sit in a warm tub of water and she loves bath bombs, so it seemed like a win-win.
It’s now after 4pm and for the first time today, I’m sitting in a comfy chair, typing away to you lot, I’m on my second glass of red, and my body finally feels relaxed, albeit still somewhat sore.
I think tonight is going to be one of those evenings where Uber Eats gets to cook for us because the idea of standing in the kitchen and chopping things or peeling stuff, is so utterly unappealing right now.
The only thing I’m looking forward to is the girls being asleep by 8pm, and my eyes closing by no later than 8:30pm.
Maybe I’m getting too old for my regular “Paul Workout”… I sure hope not.
